Set to premiere on Thursday, June 25, Match to Marry 2 is a reality dating show where 10 single men and women who want to get married, along with 10 mothers who want to see their children wed, live together in one space for six days and five nights, working toward the single goal of marriage. Seo Jang-hoon, Lee Yo-won, and Kim Yo-han will serve as MCs, adding fun to the show with their unfiltered, relatable real-life advice and deeply immersed reactions.
The previous season of Match to Marry became a hot topic during its run, climbing to No. 2 on Netflix's Top 10 TV Shows in South Korea and establishing itself as a rising powerhouse in the dating show genre. As a result, anticipation for the new season is reaching a fever pitch.
Ahead of the premiere of Match to Marry 2, MC Lee Yo-won draws attention by sharing some exciting news. She announces, "We have huge jackpot news right from the start! Season 1's final couple, Jang Min-cheol and Kim Jin-joo, have set their wedding date for this fall." In response, Seo Jang-hoon adds, "Viewers might think, 'Oh, come on, are they really going to get married?' but they actually do. I think their marriage proves once again that the participants of Match to Marry come here with 100% sincerity." This raises expectations for the stories of the children and mothers boarding the "express train to marriage" in the new season.
Meanwhile, Seo Jang-hoon, Lee Yo-won, and Kim Yo-han collectively agree that the new mothers and their children seem "much stronger." The show will feature children throwing straightforward flirtations, saying things like, "I've dated enough. Now I want to get married" and "The world started to brighten up because of you." At the same time, the mothers exert even stronger influence, making blunt remarks such as, "You can't ignore educational background and occupation," "Mothers don't like it if they are too young," and "I've seen many people divorce because of religion."
Furthermore, as conflicts between parents and children deepen, the teased appearance of a father leaves the MCs stunned. Lee Yo-won and Kim Yo-han cannot hide their surprise, exclaiming, "A father and even religious faith are entering the picture?" Meanwhile, Seo Jang-hoon is said to break a sweat, commenting, "It feels like the mothers have gotten even stronger."
With the mother-child joint marriage project becoming even more intense, anticipation is building for the premiere of Season 2 to see if another "express train to marriage" can successfully depart.
Match to Marry 2 will premiere on Thursday, June 25 at 9 PM KST.
