On the afternoon of June 25, a press conference for SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Agent Kim Reactivated' (written by Nam Dae-joong, directed by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun) was held at the SBS headquarters in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. Director Lee Seung-young and actors So Jisub, Choi Dae-hoon, Yoon Kyungho, Joo Sang Wook, and Son Naeun attended the event to share various insights about the upcoming series.
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, 'Agent Kim Reactivated' is a 'Dad Universe' revenge action drama about an 'ordinary' father who becomes the 'most dangerous' man in the world to rescue his only daughter.
So Jisub stars as 'Manager Kim', an ordinary employee at a small savings bank whose entire world revolves around his high school sophomore daughter Min-ji (played by Seo Su-min). However, his true identity is a former black-ops special agent whose very existence is a ticking time bomb. Choi Dae-hoon plays Seong Han-soo, Tae-hoon's father and a former secret agent who was once a Taekwondo gold medalist known as an 'out-of-the-box' figure. Yoon Kyungho plays Park Jin-cheol, Da-bin's father and a former secret agent once dubbed the 'God of the Battlefield.' Appearing as long-time friends of the protagonist Manager Kim (So Jisub), the two are set to bring the drama to life with next-level action and deep fatherly love, showcasing exceptional chemistry.
At the press conference, the three actors showered praise on their on-set teamwork. Choi Dae-hoon shared his thoughts first, saying, "The lineup and chemistry were perfect. I think this will be remembered as a project that was incredibly rewarding not just as an actor, but as a person." He expressed deep trust in the eldest, So Jisub, who anchored the set: "When filming action scenes, Jisub-hyung taught me a lot and always encouraged me, saying, 'Let's not overdo it or get greedy, and make sure we don't get hurt.' Thanks to our leader standing strong as a reliable cornerstone, I was happy throughout filming and felt a deep sense of sadness when it ended. Even without words, our great energy will surely reach the viewers."
So Jisub responded warmly, saying, "It has been a long time since I've been on a set where the entire filming process itself was so genuinely fun and happy." He added, "Since they are such seasoned veterans, our acting chemistry was fantastic, and I received a lot of help from my co-stars," expressing his gratitude.
Yoon Kyungho also brought his signature humor, saying, "What more is there to say?" He recalled the delightful chemistry they shared as co-presenters at the SBS Drama Awards late last year, adding, "Even though our drama is not a comedy and focuses on heartwarming fatherly love rather than outright humor, the atmosphere on set was as joyful and happy as an awards ceremony at every single moment."
Yoon Kyungho also confidently introduced the distinct action styles crafted by himself, So Jisub, and Choi Dae-hoon for 'Agent Kim Reactivated.' He teased, "The action styles of the three characters are completely different. While So Jisub-sunbae's action is both cold and hot, and Choi Dae-hoon's action is flashy, my action is powerful and exhilarating." He added, "There is basically a rock spirit embedded in the characters, which will deliver a strange sense of catharsis to the viewers."
Armed with solid acting skills and tight-knit teamwork, 'Agent Kim Reactivated' will succeed the hit series 'My Royal Nemesis' and premiere on Friday, June 26 at 9:50 PM KST.
