According to the global Top 10 chart released by Netflix's official site, Tudum, on the 8th, the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Agent Kim Reactivated" recorded 10.5 million views (total hours viewed divided by the runtime) from June 29 to July 5, proudly taking the No. 1 spot on the global non-English TV show list.
After its premiere on the 26th of last month, "Agent Kim Reactivated" soared to No. 3 on the non-English show chart in just three days. Gaining momentum through word-of-mouth, it claimed the global crown in its second week of release. Looking at the data by country, it reached the top spot in 11 countries, including South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and Peru, and demonstrated its power by landing in the Top 10 in 79 countries across the globe, including France, Italy, Brazil, and Mexico.
Based on the webtoon of the same name, "Agent Kim Reactivated" is a revenge action drama centered on an "all-for-my-child" father. It follows Agent Kim (played by So Jisub), a former special agent living as an ordinary father and office worker in South Korea while hiding his past, who reveals his true identity to save his only missing daughter and engages in a life-or-death struggle. The series is receiving praise for delivering thrilling catharsis to global viewers through the heavy, unwavering paternal love of a father who will stop at nothing for his child, and fast-paced action that swiftly subdues villains who have evaded the law.
The excitement for the terrestrial broadcast is also at its peak. With a strong upward trend, "Agent Kim Reactivated" surpassed 21.6% in nationwide viewership ratings (based on Nielsen Korea) in just four episodes. This is an overwhelmingly high record among miniseries aired this year. Furthermore, it is setting new milestones with every episode, ranking 3rd in the history of SBS Friday-Saturday drama hits, trailing closely behind "The Penthouse: War in life" (29.2%) and "The Fiery Priest" (22%).
