Known as an audition enthusiast who reportedly watches every single singing audition program, Moon Geun-young is expected to bring exceptional empathy and public sensibility to the participants' special stories and performances as the show's first-ever female actor Top 100 Listener.
Season 1 of "The Ballad of Us", which aired last year, set various records including ranking first in viewership ratings among audiences aged 20-49 across all episodes, entering Netflix's South Korea series Top 10, and surpassing 100 million cumulative online views. Continuing its popular run, the show also won the Best TV Program in the Entertainment and Variety category at the 39th Korea Broadcasting Awards announced today.
This upcoming season of "The Ballad of Us Season 2" has seen the number of applicants skyrocket to nearly three times that of the previous season, while the average age of participants has lowered further to 17.9 years old, heralding the birth of even fresher stars.
A large-scale project co-produced by SBS and SM C&C, "The Ballad of Us Season 2" is set to begin its first recording in August and premiere through SBS in October.
