Christopher Nolan Wears 'Arirang' Tie at 'The Odyssey' Red Carpet in Seoul: "I Love Korea"

The main cast and crew of the film "The Odyssey" — director Christopher Nolan, producer Emma Thomas, and actors Matt Damon and Charlize Theresa — have wrapped up their visit to South Korea with a red carpet event alongside fans.

Attending the red carpet event held at Yeongdeungpo Times Square on the afternoon of the 4th, the four of them actively engaged in signing autographs and taking selfies to repay the enthusiastic support of the fans gathered there.

In particular, director Christopher Nolan drew attention by wearing a tie inscribed with the lyrics of "Arirang" in Korean, showcasing his exceptional affection for Korea. Nolan then conveyed his special fondness for Korean fans, saying, "I sincerely thank you for your warm hospitality. I definitely want to come back." Matt Damon and Charlize Theresa responded to the passionate cheers at the venue by saying, "Thank you so much for the enthusiastic welcome. I don't think I'll ever forget this moment," and shouting, "I Love You Korea!" respectively.

Following the red carpet, a special event for Korean fans unfolded during the stage greeting that followed. They spent meaningful time with audience members who had been waiting for the release, meeting the fan who had watched Christopher Nolan's works the most times and receiving fan letters and gifts carefully prepared by the fans.

The four of them made the final moments of their first official visit to Korea even more special by expressing their deep affection for their work and heartfelt gratitude toward Korean fans.

"The Odyssey" raised expectations for box office success by surpassing 500,000 advance ticket sales on its release day today (the 5th). It is already generating a box office sensation by grossing over 900 million dollars worldwide, including in North America.
