Los Angeles has officially declared "BTS Week," rolling out a massive welcome for BTS.
As BTS prepares to hold the "BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' IN LOS ANGELES" at SoFi Stadium on September 1–2 and 5–6 (local time), the city has designated September 1 through 8 as "BTS Week" to commemorate the occasion.
Los Angeles held an official proclamation ceremony at City Hall on August 31, attended by members of the City Council, the tourism board, and BigHit Music representatives.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass stated, "The proclamation of 'BTS Week' reflects our belief that art and culture have the power to foster mutual understanding and bring communities together. I am proud to celebrate the incredible achievements of BTS, who have made profound contributions to global culture, and to share their special connection with Los Angeles with people around the world."
On September 1, City Hall will be illuminated in red, the key color of BTS's 5th studio album "ARIRANG." This symbolizes an official welcome and friendship toward the group and the fans visiting the city.
The City Council stated in a resolution, "Since their debut in 2013, BTS has established themselves as one of the most influential artists of this generation." They also highlighted the group as trailblazers who paved the way for Korean and Asian artists in the global music industry. Furthermore, the council credited the group's music, performances, message of self-love, and hope with connecting people across languages, cultures, and generations, while widely promoting Korean culture.
Meanwhile, BTS is returning to SoFi Stadium for the first time in about 4 years and 9 months since "BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LA" in December 2021. All four shows sold out early.
