Actor Choi Ye-bin has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming KBS historical epic drama "Munmu".
According to H.1 Entertainment on September 7, Choi Ye-bin is currently filming the new KBS historical drama "Munmu" in the role of Empress Wu Zetian. "Munmu" is a large-scale historical drama project with a production budget of approximately 30 billion won, starring Jang Hyuk, Lee Hyun-wook, and Kim Kang-woo. Choi Ye-bin will star alongside them as Empress Wu Zetian, a character who drives the main narrative of the work.
Empress Wu Zetian, the role played by Choi Ye-bin, is a character who must simultaneously express charisma, presence, and emotional depth. Choi Ye-bin previously solidified her presence through her emotional acting in the SBS series "The Penthouse: War in Life". For Choi Ye-bin, who has primarily worked in contemporary dramas, "Munmu" is significant as it marks her first challenge in a traditional historical epic.
H.1 Entertainment stated, "Actor Choi Ye-bin is taking on a new challenge as the female lead Empress Wu Zetian in 'Munmu'.
