Directors Kim Seong-su and Park Chan-wook are showing their support for the film "The Assassin(s)".
"The Assassin(s)" traces the suspicions and background surrounding the assassination of the First Lady, which shocked South Korea on August 15, 1974. In line with the release schedule, Directors Kim Seong-su and Park Chan-wook have decided to attend GV (Guest Visit) sessions alongside the film's lead cast members.
First, on September 23 (Wed), the release date, a GV will be held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall, featuring Director Kim Seong-su, Director Huh Jin-ho, and actor Lee Minho. Anticipation is high as Director Kim Seong-su—who heated up the box office in 2023 by mobilizing approximately 13.12 million moviegoers with "12.12: The Day"—meets Director Huh Jin-ho of "The Assassin(s)", a film that adds cinematic imagination to the First Lady assassination case. As this work completes Hive Media Corp's modern history trilogy following "The Man Standing Next" and "12.12: The Day", attention is focused on the conversation between the two directors who brought the era to the screen.
Next, on September 26 (Sat), a GV will take place at CGV Wangsimni, with Director Park Chan-wook stepping up as the moderator, and Director Huh Jin-ho and actor Park Hae-il participating as guests. Director Park Chan-wook and Park Hae-il, who previously worked together in the 2022 film "Decision to Leave", are reuniting through this event, adding to the delight of movie fans. Guided by Director Park Chan-wook's questions, an in-depth conversation will follow regarding Director Huh Jin-ho's direction and actor Park Hae-il's acting, promising to be an occasion for audiences to deepen their understanding of the work.
Selected as the top anticipated film for the upcoming Chuseok holiday, "The Assassin(s)" will hit theaters on September 23.
