i-dle leader SOYEON has proven her power as a queen by sweeping the top of music charts with her solo track "I'm gonna TOESA."
According to her agency Cube Entertainment on the 18th, the title track "I'm gonna TOESA" (Narr. Kian84) from SOYEON's 1st full-length album "What a Wonderful Life" achieved an "all-kill" by sweeping the number-one spots on real-time charts across major domestic music sites, including Melon, Genie, VIBE, FLO, and Bugs, earlier that day.
The global momentum is fierce as well. In addition to landing at number seven on Spotify's Daily Chart in South Korea, the track also secured the top spot on the daily charts of Genie and VIBE as of the previous day, laying the groundwork for long-term success. Notably, reaction to the video content has been enthusiastic, as it reclaimed the number-one spot on YouTube's daily popular music videos.
The secret to this song's popularity is undoubtedly "empathy." Listeners note that the lyrics capturing the sorrows and joys of office workers, combined with Kian84's narration, deliver a peculiar sense of catharsis. The music video's comment section is overflowing with real resignation experiences and messages of comfort from listeners both in Korea and abroad.
A wave of celebrity challenge videos has also added fuel to the buzz. Legendary vocalists such as Jaurim's Kim Yoon-ah and Ex's Lee Sang-mi, along with Kian84 who participated in the narration and BTOB's Yook Sung-jae who captivated online audiences with his witty vocals, have all joined in, generating buzz day after day.
SOYEON, who has conquered the charts, is set to appear on KBS 2TV's "The Seasons - Sung Si-kyung's Candy-like Sound Boyfriend" airing today (the 18th) to perform "I'm gonna TOESA."
