On September 29, the team behind SBS's new variety program "Maestro Jang" released its first teaser, titled "Birth of a Master," ramping up anticipation for the upcoming premiere.
"Maestro Jang" follows Jang Hang-jun—whose past was at times pathetic and groveling, yet brighter than anyone else's—as he launches a secret audition project to cast top actors for his autobiographical film "Maestro Jang." The show is set to deliver delightful laughter to viewers through a witty, engaging talk format that captures the playful banter and chemistry between the master director and visiting stars.
In the released teaser, Jang bids farewell to his familiar, approachable image with a feisty warning: "A Maltese without tear stains?! Stop it." He then proclaims, "A master must not act rashly," preaching his eccentric "theory of mastery" with 200% swagger and director-level dignity, sparking bursts of laughter.
Jang further piques curiosity by invoking an array of global heavyweights, including Sandra Bullock, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, and Christopher Nolan. "If you just follow my history, the modern history of the world unfolds," he boasts, packaging his personal journey into an epic saga on the scale of an The Odyssey. He further heightens intrigue by teasing a secret pitch for A-listers, saying, "I will make a casting offer they cannot refuse."
Highlighting the comedic chemistry between Jang Hang-jun, newly reinvented as a cinematic master, and the stars responding to his bold overtures, "Maestro Jang" will premiere on Thursday, October 15, at 9:00 p.m.
