Actor Hyunsuk, formerly of the group CIX, is taking on his first-ever lead role as he embarks on a fresh chapter in his acting career.
According to his agency Management Run, Hyunsuk has been cast as the male lead, So Yi-jun, in the upcoming drama "Bitch X Rich: Royal Camp."
So Yi-jun is a pivotal figure at the very center of the story revolving around Cheongdam International High School. Characterized by a cool, composed demeanor that rarely betrays his true emotions, the role will see the 188-centimeter-tall Hyunsuk bring the character's complex emotional arcs to life.
Hyunsuk underwent dramatic physical transformations to fit his characters. He previously gained roughly 10 kilograms for the role of Ji Young-hyun in "Study Group Season 2," which recently wrapped filming, and then shed 12 kilograms to take on So Yi-jun in this project. Industry insiders are keeping a close eye on his rapid evolution as an actor, fueled by his fierce concentration and remarkable self-discipline.
Hyunsuk debuted as a member of CIX in 2019. Following the group's official conclusion of activities in April 2026, he signed an exclusive contract with Management Run in June 2026 to focus on acting. While he balanced acting alongside his music career during his idol days, this project marks his debut as a drama lead.
"Bitch X Rich: Royal Camp" is a teen thriller set against the backdrop of a high school and is currently preparing to enter production.
