RM of BTS, currently on a world tour, shared his distress over some fans lingering outside their hotel during the South American leg of the tour and called for a mature fan culture.
On October 8, RM addressed fans through the fan communication platform Weverse, writing, "We are currently in Peru. It's my first time visiting Peru in my life, so I feel very excited and happy." He appealed, "However, the members and staff are having a very difficult time because of people staying outside our hotel all day long. It is so noisy even inside the rooms that everyone is having trouble sleeping. Not only that, but we are also causing immense inconvenience to the other guests staying at the same hotel."
He continued, "While we are grateful for your welcoming hearts and passion, if we cannot get enough rest and sleep, it will disrupt the concerts we share with you. Please, not only in Lima, but also in Chile, Brazil, Argentina, and various countries in Asia that we will visit next, I sincerely ask that you refrain from staying outside the hotel. I believe that ARMY, the most wonderful fans in the world, will understand and won't do this. I hope we can build an even more mature and proud relationship with each other."
BTS is currently carrying out their world tour "ARIRANG." They are holding "BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' IN LIMA" at Estadio San Marcos in Lima, Peru, on October 7 and October 9–10 (local time).
Earlier, BTS members also voiced their distress regarding invasions of privacy during their North American tour.
Following their concert in Baltimore, United States, on August 11 (local time), V and JUNGKOOK shared an anecdote during a Weverse Live about encountering around 20 fans after visiting their hotel gym at around 2 a.m.
JUNGKOOK remarked, "I've never seen people working out at dawn while on tour," suspecting that they had come to see them. V drew a line by noting that while coming for the purpose of working out is fine, people shouldn't disturb each other. JUNGKOOK firmly stated, "Don't just stare; whether you're lifting dumbbells or looking at exercise equipment, please focus on your own posture and workout. Isn't this our private life?"
