Episodes 3 and 4 of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Doctor X: Mafia in White," broadcast on October 16 and 17, depicted the unstoppable actions of doctor Gye Soo-jung (played by Kim Ji-won) assigned to the emergency room.
Gye Soo-jung stepped up to provide blood directly for a patient in urgent need of a transfusion and displayed remarkable intuition by not missing even the subtlest symptoms. In particular, she alertly recalled the awkward body movements of cleaning worker Yeo Jung-soon (played by Shin Hye-kyung), discovering her in time after she collapsed and securing the golden time.
Unlike the hospital leadership prioritizing calculations and reputation, Gye Soo-jung proved her conviction with skill, declaring, "I do not fail." She also offered quiet yet sharp, pointed remarks toward absent professors, delivering a thrilling sense of catharsis to viewers. Her subtle psychological tug-of-war with newly assigned Na Dae-il (played by Jang Seung-jo) also heightened the drama's tension.
Kim Ji-won brought Gye Soo-jung to life with even greater depth through detailed gaze and solid vocal delivery, portraying a character harboring genuine sincerity beneath a cool demeanor. High praise is pouring in for Kim Ji-won's acting transformation as she breathes life into the role through restrained performance and a commanding presence. Powered by her passionate acting, "Doctor X: Mafia in White" is creating a syndrome, surpassing 18.5% nationwide and peaking at 20.8% in viewership ratings in just four episodes.
"Doctor X: Mafia in White" airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM.
