On October 21, fashion magazine Elle released a couple pictorial and interview featuring actors Kim Yoo-jung and JINYOUNG, who are starring together in the tvN drama "100 Days of Deception." In the photos, the two captured the classic romance and delicate emotions of the 1930s, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a painted portrait.
In the accompanying interview, Kim Yoo-jung, who plays Ga-kyung, Gyeongseong's top pickpocket turned spy, and JINYOUNG, who portrays Tae-woong, an elite interpreter at the Japanese Government-General of Korea, expressed their extraordinary trust in each other.
When asked how they felt upon learning they would be co-stars, Kim Yoo-jung shared, "I was truly so happy. In addition to really enjoying JINYOUNG's previous works, I felt he was a perfect fit for the Tae-woong I had imagined."
JINYOUNG also expressed his trust, saying, "When I received the script, Yoo-jung had already been cast as Ga-kyung, which played a very big role in my decision to choose this project. I thought that with Yoo-jung, I might be able to bring out and show sides of myself I didn't even know, and that turned out to be true."
Praise for their first impressions of each other and their acting chemistry followed. JINYOUNG said, "Yoo-jung is a multifaceted person. She is always full of vitality and is incredibly flexible as an actor." Kim Yoo-jung responded, "My first impression of actor JINYOUNG was 'warm.' He is a very clear person. Whether conveying an emotion, an atmosphere, or words, his feelings reach me clearly and distinctly."
They also shared their reflections on playing youth living through the 1930s. Kim Yoo-jung recalled, "First of all, I felt a deep sense of gratitude. And what I newly realized was that the struggles held by the youth back then were not very different from those of today. The cast and the production crew all filmed with one heart, bringing our sincerity together." JINYOUNG expressed his thoughts, saying, "Young people contemplating how to live and what kind of person to become. Even in a different era, it was filled with love and camaraderie—ultimately, I felt it was a story about human lives. Thinking about how those characters must have felt, experiencing that fully, and conveying it was our job."
