TWICE's DAHYUN and actor Cha Woo-min have been cast as the leads in the film "Gureumi Gureumi" (romanized title).

"Gureumi Gureumi" depicts the eventful first love coming-of-age story of a cheerful girl who has spent her life rolling wheelchair wheels and a promising teen swimmer harboring a hidden emotional wound as they become special to each other. A teen romance about two completely different youths who meet and expand each other's worlds, the film will be helmed by director Choi Sun-min, who co-directed the JTBC dramas "King the Land," "Miss Night and Day," and "Surely Tomorrow."

DAHYUN, who has been showcasing her potential as an actor through projects such as "You Are the Apple of My Eye," "Run to You," and "Love Me," leads the film by playing Gureum, a high school student who boasts a flashy pink wheelchair. Although Gureum is paralyzed from the waist down and has lived in a wheelchair for all of her 17 years, she possesses a sunshine-like charm, with a brighter spirit and higher self-esteem than anyone else. A member of the art club, Gureum is seized one day by a desire to see and sketch real abdominal muscles, leading her to the school swimming pool. There, she becomes a community service mentor to Junsan, who was expelled from training after getting into a fight with a senior, and begins her first love.

Cha Woo-min, who has gained attention as a rising star by appearing in "Buried hearts," "Study Group," and "My Bias, My Boss," takes on the role of high school swimming prospect Junsan, sharing romantic chemistry with DAHYUN. Junsan is a character who possesses an undeniably striking physique and looks, but hides an inferiority complex and internal wounds that others know nothing about. With swimming being the only thing on his mind, Junsan grows close to Gureum through the community service he is forced to perform, but even as he develops feelings for her, he struggles due to a long-held sense of shame.

"Gureumi Gureumi" is currently in the midst of filming, aiming for a release in 2027.
