In the upcoming third episode of the SBS variety show "The Great Hang-jun," airing on Thursday, October 29 at 10:20 PM, actor Cho Jung-seok makes a guest appearance to engage in a delightful battle of wits with director Jang Hang-jun.
During the recent recording, Cho Jung-seok drew attention when discussing his role in "My Daughter Is a Zombie," considered the biggest Korean box-office hit of 2025, by revealing, "Starring in the movie 'My Daughter Is a Zombie' was all thanks to Gummy." He proved how blessed he is in marriage by sharing that he decided to take on the film following his wife Gummy's enthusiastic recommendation.
In response, director Jang Hang-jun joined the friendly competition of praising their wives, saying, "When I received the offer to direct 'The King's Warden,' I also only did it because writer Kim Eun-hee told me to do it". A studio-wide wave of laughter erupted as the two completed an unexpected "parallel theory of being blessed with great wives," having both achieved great success with the help of Korean music icon Gummy and thriller maestro Kim Eun-hee.
Cho Jung-seok also opened up about his devoted fatherly side toward his two daughters who take after him, saying, "My first daughter looks just like me, and my second daughter resembles me even more." He drew roaring laughter by revealing that he pours his masterclass acting skills into playing princesses with his daughters.
"When we play princesses, I specialize in the prince role, and my wife Gummy plays the clock," he shared, sparking laughter by revealing Gummy's unexpected role. He continued, "When Gummy makes the tolling sound, 'Dong, dong,' our daughter acts along, saying, 'Oh no, Prince, I have to go.' When I quickly grab her wrist and say, 'Wait, it's only 11:30. Don't go yet,' she loves it so much." He then added, "I was banned from playing the monster because my acting was too realistic," drawing another round of laughter.
Cho Jung-seok's appearance—highlighting sweet behind-the-scenes moments with his wife Gummy and the lively parenting life with his two lookalike daughters—will air on "The Great Hang-jun" on Thursday, October 29 at 10:20 PM.
