On October 29, an accusatory post titled "Please stop promoting, school violence perpetrator actress born in 1985" was uploaded to an online community. The writer, Person A, claimed that during their time attending Junggye Middle School, Actor C was a well-known delinquent who harassed them on a regular basis.
Through the post, Person A stated that Actor C called them out to places such as hallways in buildings near the school and viciously assaulted them, mainly targeting their cheeks, which resulted in severely swollen cheeks and a ruptured eardrum. Person A also listed specific details of the continuous harassment, claiming that Actor C came to find them during every break to unleash verbal abuse, forcibly borrowed gym clothes and textbooks without returning them, and demanded to swap shoes after arriving at a school picnic dressed in a suit and high heels.
Person A continued to plead, "I am still having such a hard time mentally. Because of that person, I still go to psychiatric clinics, take medication, and live with depression and anxiety symptoms." They added, "While I, the victim, live suffering from trauma, seeing the perpetrator live receiving love from the public as if nothing happened makes my blood dry up."
They further demanded a sincere apology from Actor C and the suspension of all broadcasting and YouTube activities, stating, "Seeing them smiling on TV or YouTube, or being consumed as a good wife, a good mother, an actor who cooks well, and a wholesome character causes me pain."
Although the post did not state the perpetrator's real name, speculative posts pointing to Cha Ye-ryun rapidly spread online after clues were given identifying the person as "an actor born in 1985 who graduated from Junggye Middle School."
Regarding this, Cha Ye-ryun's agency, HB Entertainment, firmly denied the claims, stating, "After checking, [the allegations] are completely groundless."
