On November 5, Nana posted a lengthy statement on her social media, writing, "For 17 years, I have been sincere in my work at every single moment and have done my absolute best."
Expressing her frustration, Nana stated, "I want to say something to those self-proclaimed fans who intentionally write hateful posts while ignoring my choices and freedom simply because my relationship was confirmed." She added, "What did I do that was so wrong? Did anyone suffer harm because of me? Did I cause a moral controversy?"
She then maintained a firm stance, continuing, "To be clear, my romantic relationship is part of my personal private life and my own life. I do not believe it is something I should apologize for."
She further remarked, "The part I feel sorry about is having caused criticism and emotional wounds to be directed at those who, in my eyes, were not genuine fans—things they did not need to hear, see, or feel because of me." She added, "Please do not hurt the fans who love and respect the person named Nana as a human being beyond the framework of a celebrity. Please do not cause any more harm."
Previously, Nana and T.O.P officially confirmed their relationship last month. When dating rumors emerged, both agencies swiftly acknowledged them within less than an hour, announcing the birth of an official entertainment industry couple. The two first connected earlier this year while filming the music video for "Wanjeon Michyeosseo!", the title track of T.O.P's solo album, and after remaining close friends, developed into a romantic relationship around June.
However, due to T.O.P's past history, including his marijuana smoking and reversal of his retirement from the entertainment industry, their relationship has drawn concerned looks. Recently, sparks flew when it was revealed that Nana accompanied him to T.O.P's birthday cafe event held amid conflicts with his fandom, leading to over-the-line criticism from some online users directed at Nana, which sparked public disapproval.
