Airing on November 6 at 8:50 PM, SBS's "Curious Stories Y" sheds light on the full story behind the violent livestreams of YouTuber Kagwang, who has 470,000 subscribers.
Recently, Kagwang provoked public outrage by livestreaming shocking acts during a broadcast in Thailand, including severe verbal abuse, physical beatings, and forced alcohol consumption directed at a female guest, and even breaking the crutches she was using.
The victim, Hyun-ji (pseudonym), secretly contacted a friend and was narrowly rescued with the help of the embassy; immediately upon returning to Korea, she hired a lawyer and announced plans to file a complaint. However, just two days later, she cut off contact with those trying to help her and disappeared, only to reappear on a birthday party livestream held by Kagwang, the alleged perpetrator, offering the baffling explanation that "there was no abuse and it was all staged." Questions are mounting over what led to the drastic change in her attitude in just 48 hours.
Kagwang, who has continued sadistic broadcasts to collect donations, turned out to be the boy who appeared on "Curious Stories Y" 16 years ago. Why has he been unable to escape the internet world, continuing to commercialize bizarre behavior even now after so much time has passed—when even back then he turned the production team into content for his livestream?
The real story hidden behind 470,000-subscriber YouTuber Kagwang's violent livestreams will be revealed on "Curious Stories Y," airing Friday, November 6, at 8:50 PM.
