Netflix has unveiled the main poster and main trailer for its upcoming variety show "Take a Hike!", which captures the unpredictable winter mountain survival journey of four reluctant hikers.

Scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, August 18, "Take a Hike!" released its main poster and trailer on August 4.

The show is a self-produced hiking variety program where four involuntary hikers who have lived their lives avoiding hiking—singer Car, the garden, DAY6 member DOWOON, actor Lee Chae-min, and ALLDAY PROJECT member TARZZAN— embark on their first-ever deep winter snow mountain expedition.

In the newly released main poster, Car, the garden stands at the front as the oldest member of the "Hasan Hiking Club," joined by DOWOON, Lee Chae-min, and TARZZAN, all showing determined expressions. The four figures standing proudly against the snow-covered mountain raise curiosity about the chaotic climbing journey ahead.

The accompanying trailer shows the harsh reality facing the new members who started off with determination by reciting the "Mountaineer's Oath." The breathtaking scenery of nature is quickly overshadowed by harsh cold and hardship, leading to the rapid revocation of the oath and a flurry of early exit declarations that bring laughter. In particular, despite whimsical complaints like "This program is really great except for the hiking part," their struggles against the snow mountain in their own unique ways draw attention.

The "comradeship" forged among the four members through the harsh hardship is also a key point to watch. The thrilling "taste of descending" found at the end of the hike and the heartwarming chemistry built at the foot of the mountain add to the variety entertainment value.

Producing Director Park Hyun-yong explained, "The biggest charm of our program lies in the unfiltered chemistry of the members placed on a rough and grueling path against their own will. Viewers will be able to see their natural synergy as they rely on each other in extreme situations." He added, raising expectations, "Even though it is a variety program, the subject of 'hiking' was treated more seriously than any documentary. You will be able to experience the fun of watching the ruggedness and beauty of the mountain just as it is."

According to the Korea Box Office Information System (KOBIS) of the Korean Film Council on the 4th, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" attracted 401,774 people nationwide on the 3rd, maintaining its position at number one in the box office. The cumulative number of moviegoers reached 3,785,902.

"Spider-Man: Brand New Day," which broke the opening record for movies released in 2026 by drawing 680,000 daily moviegoers on its first day, achieved the remarkable feat of surpassing 3 million viewers in its first weekend. It is continuing its dash toward a massive box office hit by mobilizing over 400,000 people even on Monday, a weekday in its second week.

Model Joo Woo-jae and singer Roy Kim are joining the new expert panel for the SBS audition project "The Ballad of Us 2".

Following actor Moon Geun-young, Joo Woo-jae and Roy Kim have been added to the lineup for "The Ballad of Us 2," which is confirmed to premiere in October, completing a generational shift for the expert panel that completely differentiates it from the previous season.

Joo Woo-jae, who continues his rising momentum after recently winning the Best Entertainer Award at the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards, is stepping up as a new panel member for this season. SBS Tuesday entertainment show "High Valley, Top Hero" will unveil its final mountain village journey filled with laughter and touching moments.

In today's broadcast, an unexpected crisis strikes LIM YOUNGWOONG and Kim Do-hoon as they work in sync under Cha Seung-won's coaching. When someone's mistake causes a major accident, a blame relay unfolds instantly as they pass the responsibility to each other. Curiosity builds over whether the two can successfully resolve the crisis away from Cha Seung-won's watchful eyes.

On the other hand, Chef Cha Seung-won prepares a top-quality, perfect mountain meal using his special dakgomtang (chicken soup). Tasting this, LIM YOUNGWOONG recorded his very first clean plate, finishing his entire bowl for the first time since starting mountain village life, and could not hide his admiration.

The next morning, Kim Do-hoon's plan to prepare a surprise meal for Cha Seung-won completely goes awry, drawing sighs. World-renowned director Christopher Nolan, visiting South Korea ahead of the release of his new film "The Odyssey", made a surprise appearance on SBS "News Hunters" to express his affection for Korean audiences and share behind-the-scenes stories with acclaimed director Park Chan-wook.

Nolan conducted an exclusive interview with "News Hunters" at the SBS Mok-dong building on the 3rd.

Appearing in a jacket despite the extreme heat wave, which had fans concerned, he lightened the mood by joking, "I came through China and India, so I'm used to the heat. At least I don't have to wear a necktie like an anchor."

Expressing that he had long looked forward to visiting Korea, Nolan mentioned the explosive support Korean audiences sent him during the past release of "Interstellar". The film "Free Dogs" (directed by Oh Sung-yun and Lee Chun-baek) has revealed the remarkable technical prowess of Korean animation captured across 145,440 frames.

"Free Dogs" is a touching adventure animation that follows Mungchi (D.O.), an abandoned dog whose destiny changes overnight, as he embarks on a harsh journey to find true freedom alongside friends with diverse stories, such as Jjang-a (Park Chul-min), the survival master of the streets, and Bami (Park So-dam), a girl-crush character who escaped from a dog farm.

Directors Oh Sung-yun and Lee Chun-baek of Studio Dadashow, a leading South Korean animation studio equipped with storytelling that appeals to all generations and outstanding technical skills comparable to American giants like Disney and Pixar, worked with a total of 178 crew members to achieve uncompromising detail throughout every stage of production, from characters to backgrounds.

In particular, to naturally blend the actors' emotions and breathing into the characters, the production chose a pre-recording and post-animation method that is rare in domestic animation. Each of the 145,440 frames was meticulously completed to realize breathing characters and realistic movements.

As a result, "Free Dogs" showcases chase scenes with dog traffickers and large-scale action spanning forests and cities, completing a unique "extreme dog action" that proves the technical capabilities of Korean animation once again. The direction, which simultaneously delivers delicate emotional acting and dynamic action, is expected to offer a high level of immersion for both children and adult audiences.

"Free Dogs" is a 4K newly mastered version of "Underdog", which won the Jury Special Prize at the 23rd Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival, the Grand Prize at the 8th Seoul International Children's Film Festival, and Best Animation at the 5th Silk Road International Film Festival in China. By re-editing the original 102-minute running time down to 93 minutes, the story unfolds with continuous interest, and the messages of "living life as oneself" and "the subjectivity of happiness" have become even clearer. Sound mixing enhanced the delivery of the actors' lines, and the overall quality was elevated through music supplementation and revision work.

"Free Dogs", a turning point for Korean animation, will be released exclusively at Lotte Cinema theaters nationwide on August 19.

Jung Eun-chae, who is joining Season 2 as a new member, shared the reason for her appearance, saying, "As a fan, I was so curious about how the upbeat rhythm of Season 1 would expand. I had repeatedly heard that the chemistry among all the team members was great, so I chose it because I definitely wanted to experience it firsthand."

Joo Hye-ra, the character played by Jung Eun-chae, is the new team leader of the Violent Crime Investigation Team 1 at Gangha Police Station. She has a history with Jin Yi-soo from their police academy days, where she was his harsh "devil instructor" who put him through rigorous training. Jung Eun-chae introduced her character by saying, "Although they start with a hate-hate relationship, she is a character who gradually grows into a wonderful cooperative partner as they solve cases."

The process of adapting to Violent Crime Investigation Team 1, which already boasted tight teamwork, was pure warmth.
