On July 27, the production team of the new SBS dating reality show "Love Against Time", which is set to premiere on August 3, released its official teaser video for the first episode through social media, capturing excitement, tears, and unexpected twists.

In the released video, the cast members begin with fluttering first encounters, sharing compliments such as "You look elegant and cute," "You look clear," and "You look bright." However, the atmosphere quickly shifts. The cast members read aloud diary entries from their battles with illnesses that they had never been able to share with the world, including "I became a stage 4 cancer patient," "I had a total gastrectomy," and "I was told I might lose one of my legs," plunging the studio into silence.

In particular, MC YENA deeply empathized and shed tears as the cast members shared their realistic worries and scars, asking, "Can I date? Can I get married?"

Towards the end of the teaser, in "The Room of Time"—the signature space of "Love Against Time"—a male cast member made a significant confession, saying, "Actually, I know that person. Will she remember me?" which left the studio in shock. The unexpected past connection between the two, which even the production team did not foresee, caused the MCs to jump out of their seats in sheer amazement.

Singer K.Will has clinched the final victory at the "Immortal Songs" King of Kings special.

K.Will appeared in Part 2 of the "2026 King of Kings" special of KBS 2TV's "Immortal Songs" broadcast recently and performed Kim Gun-mo's "The Moon of Seoul". Before taking the stage, he said, "It feels different in meaning, and I'm both nervous and excited," adding, "I will present a good stage with only my voice." Dancer Cha Hyun-seung, who was completely cured of leukemia last year, has returned to the stage with singer SUNMI.

Cha Hyun-seung appeared as SUNMI's partner dancer at "Waterbomb Seoul 2026," held on the 26th at the KINTEX Outdoor Global Stage in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

The two showcased a duet performance built on their long-term chemistry. Their seamless teamwork stood out during a move where Cha Hyun-seung lifted SUNMI with one hand and placed her on his shoulder. Immediately after the performance, Waterbomb's official social media posted a video of the stage along with the caption, "This is it! They met again! Waterbomb SUNMI X Cha Hyun-seung stage."

This performance carried even greater significance because Cha Hyun-seung was battling the illness until just a year ago.

He was suddenly diagnosed with leukemia in June of last year. He later detailed his diagnosis and chemotherapy process through his YouTube channel, unreservedly documenting the early stages of treatment such as sperm cryopreservation, catheter insertion for chemotherapy injections, and admission to a sterile room, as well as experiencing difficult conditions like a sharp rise in blood pressure during a blood transfusion and deciding to shave his head due to hair loss. After about six months of treatment, he was declared fully recovered on December 22 of last year, and subsequently shared updates of his recovery by posting videos of himself resuming workouts and choreography practice on social media.

Cha Hyun-seung previously made a name for himself as "SUNMI's dancer" by working alongside her during performances for her solo track "24 Hours" and the 2018 Waterbomb festival. Because the two have built a long-standing partnership, their reunion on the same stage after overcoming his illness drew even more attention.

Having gained public recognition as a dancer, Cha Hyun-seung later appeared on variety programs such as "Single's Inferno", "Physical: 100", and "Be Mbitious", and expanded his career from dancer to actor by starting his acting activities in 2024 with "Share House" and appearing in "Seduce My Husband".

DAY6 bassist Young K, who has been a steady pillar of the band, has returned entirely with his own personal story. His second solo full-length album "YOUNGEST," released after two years and 10 months, features an impressive 15 tracks, with his touch on every single one of them.

The title track "Shut The Door" captures the moment of closing one's heart and repeating to oneself that everything is going to be okay. The remaining 14 tracks also capture his past few years, ranging from a longing for freedom, memories from his military service, reconciliation with a friend, to snapshots of daily life. Though it received high marks for its high quality—with DAY6 member WONPIL even praising it as a "masterpiece"—Young K himself could not hide his shyness.

"I am usually very strict when evaluating myself, but I want to say that this is my best, my current best."

The new album contains a total of 15 tracks: "Marionette", "Shut The Door", "F world", "Hey Honey", "Cheering Song" (literal title), "SPIKE", "Yonge St.", "million reasons", "100 Reasons Why We Broke Up (with JINJOO of DNCE)" (literal title), "Drivin' into Hell", "whatever", "Goodbye, Love", "Heading Home" (literal title), "Baby's Breath" (literal title), and "Coffee in the Studio" (literal title). Because every single song holds his own story, his explanations were detailed as well.

"Among them, 'Coffee in the Studio' is the track that captures the most everyday story. It started out completely impromptu in the recording room and was finished right on the spot. We did a formal recording later on, but the version where I improvised and sang with the lyrics written right then turned out better, so it was put on the album. 'SPIKE' is a song I wrote while having a great time watching the volleyball anime 'Haikyu!!', and 'Heading Home' captures vivid memories from inside a bus on the way back after training during my military service, with the feeling that 'I lived fiercely, those were war-like days.' There is also 'F world', which holds a sense of unfairness toward the world. There are so many unfair things in the world. So it is a song about flipping the middle finger up at the sky toward the world. On the other hand, 'Marionette' contains a longing for freedom. It is a song about cutting the strings and stepping out. Since it was my first time cutting the strings, it is a bit clumsy and shaky, but it is a song shouting that from now on, I will cut the strings and move forward."

During the interview, when one representative track was played, Young K could not contain his excitement and swayed his body. It was "Goodbye, Love". Speaking about this track, which he worked on with GroovyRoom, he began by saying, "I've wanted to collaborate with a DJ for a long time."

"I have known IÖN from GroovyRoom for 10 years, and since he likes band music, I had hoped this collaboration would happen someday, and that moment has finally arrived. I made it as a song to be sung while thinking of the final moment of a final performance."

Now in his 11th year since debut, Young K is a representative K-pop singer-songwriter who has released over 200 songs. According to the Korea Music Copyright Association's rankings for idol copyrighted songs as of June 3, 2026, he ranked 4th with 219 songs. When asked about the source of his creativity, he answered calmly.

"The reason I have so many songs is because early on, I wasn't as well-off as I am now. I had to build my skills for survival, and as I kept working, the songs piled up. Through that process, I honed the skill of looking at the world a little differently and expressing it." (He chuckled and waved away rumors guessing that reading books was his source.) "I brought books of poetry into the military three times to use as references, but they came out without even the plastic wrap being torn off." (Laughs)

His reflections on writing lyrics and composing as a bassist were also unique.

"Originally, as a vocalist, I hated the instrument called the bass. Guitars and keyboards allow you to accompany yourself while singing, but the bass was hard to hear, which made me sad, and the process of learning the basics was also difficult. But as I kept doing it, I realized that the bass plays the role of a bridge connecting rhythm and melody, and I think that experience greatly influenced my composing abilities."

For someone whose unique perspective on the world directly leads to lyrics and melodies, "Cheering Song" was one of those tracks. Among this album, the lyrics he likes the most are also from "Cheering Song".

"As you live life, you get tossed around here and there. Due to the nature of being a celebrity, I could become gossip among friends, and I was once hurt in my heart by that incident." While working on the song, he let those friends listen to the lyrics in advance, and the friend cried and apologized. "That is how we reconciled and are getting along well again."

On the other hand, the song that was least easy was "Marionette".

"The lyrics are about 'cutting the strings and moving forward,' but admitting the very fact that I had been hanging from strings meant admitting that I was longing for freedom, so it wasn't easy." He added, "It means I had tied strings to myself. Within the band DAY6, regardless of likes and dislikes, I made music to carry out given missions, and it made me ask myself whether I had truly made the music I genuinely wanted to do."

He also directly designed the concept for the title track's music video.

"I participated starting from the planning stage. I emphasized that when you open a door and walk in, nature should unfold, with a white bed placed in the middle. I wanted to express the inside of the door as a virtual space far from the real world, a space embodying freedom. It also includes a scene I had wanted to try for a long time." He added, "Back when I ran a YouTube channel, I couldn't do a pickup truck concept due to safety issues, but we finally realized it this time."

Meanwhile, "YOUNGEST," the album that is most true to Young K himself and compiles the answers he has thrown at himself up to now, is officially released today at 6 PM. Riding the momentum of his comeback, he will hold a solo concert titled "Young K Solo Tour < YOUNGEST >" as part of his solo tour from August 14 to 16 at the Inspire Arena in Incheon.

If you think of the movie "HOPE," this is likely the single scene that comes to mind: fishing village leader Hyun-ho (played by Seo Beom-sik) riding a horse and snatching up Sung-ki (Zo In-sung). It was a moment that captured the sense of speed from a white horse galloping through the forest, alongside the strength and agility of the rider.

The stills capturing this moment were used as a teaser poster, making a massive contribution to skyrocketing anticipation for the project during the Cannes Film Festival and early domestic promotional stages.

Regarding this scene, Zo In-sung stated, "It was one of the scenes we worked the hardest on in Romania. After filming, the production company and the director said it could even be used as a teaser poster, which is how this scene came to be presented. Since I've known senior actor Seo Beom-sik, who played Hyun-ho, for a long time, we matched our choreography well and were able to finish filming without any accidents."

When watching the movie, you can actually understand the urgent context of this scene. Sung-ki and his crew went into the forest to hunt a tiger that had attacked the village, and sensing beforehand that manpower would be short, they called in the tough "older brothers" of the fishing village. Soon after, the presence of that tiger turns out to be something much harsher, and Sung-ki and his crew begin to be chased.

Around that time, the fishing village brothers who appeared riding a Land Rover had an unmistakable aura. Unlike Sung-ki's ragged crew, they appeared in stylish vacation looks featuring leather jackets, knitwear, and even gold accessories.

The person who drew the most attention at this time was Hyun-ho. He is a character who exudes the aura of a leader despite having only a few lines. Resembling Ji Jin-hee and Kim Myung-min, with a fleeting glimpse of Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Ka-fai's face as well, this actor is Seo Beom-sik. Although his appearance and departure lasted only about five minutes, his intensity was second to none against the aliens.

Seo Beom-sik is a martial arts director and actor who has been active since the 1990s. As a founding member of the Jung Doo-hong Action School, he made a name for himself by serving as a stunt double for lead actors and as a martial arts director for various films and dramas. He caught the eye of director Lee Byung-hoon and began acting starting with "The Merchant," and also played active roles in "Dae Jang Geum," "Ballad of Seodong," and "The Great Queen Seondeok." Since then, he has consistently remained active in numerous dramas and films.

This is a casting choice where director Na Hong-jin's unique eye truly shined. His philosophy of not strictly insisting on top star casting, alongside his ability to elevate the realism and vitality of a production through completely unexpected and fresh casting even for supporting and minor roles, was fully demonstrated in "HOPE" as well.

The casting was truly 100 percent fresh, including Hopohang village residents Lee Sang-hee, Im Hyun-sik, Eum Moon-suk, Lee Yong-nyeo, and Hwang Suk-jung, as well as Yoo Jun-hong, Joo Kwang-hyun, Oh Doo-won, and Han Woo-yeol, who appeared as members of Sung-ki's crew.
