Ahead of the broadcast of episode 13 at 9:50 PM on Friday the 18th, the production team of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Flex X Cop 2" (written by Kim Ba-da, directed by Kim Jae-hong) released the closing remarks of Ahn Bohyun (playing Jin Yi-soo), Jung Eun-chae (playing Joo Hye-ra), Kang Sang Jun (playing Park Jun-young), and Kim Shin-bi (playing Choi Kyung-jin), who led the center of the story.

Ahn Bohyun, who showcased Jin Yi-soo himself through his irreplaceable passionate acting, expressed his deep affection, saying, "I sincerely thank everyone who watched 'Flex X Cop 2.' I was truly happy to meet the character 'Jin Yi-soo,' and since I seem to have become much brighter like Yi-soo, Yi-soo will remain with a very special meaning to me." He added, "Thanks to many people watching and supporting us, we were able to successfully wrap up Season 2. I once again sincerely thank everyone who joined us."

Jung Eun-chae, who demonstrated leadership as Joo Hye-ra, a veteran team leader and former ace of the National Police Agency's counter-terrorism team, stated, "I want to express my sincere gratitude to the many people who watched and loved 'Flex X Cop 2,' and this project will also remain a precious memory for me for a long time." She also shared, "I want to say it was an honor to work with such great colleagues and staff members. I will always move forward with a grateful heart."

Kang Sang Jun, who played Park Jun-young, the reliable and righteous detective of Major Crimes Team 1, greeted by saying, "I was genuinely grateful to be able to join such a fun and wonderful set once again while filming 'Flex X Cop 2.' I also thank all the production crew and staff." He added, "It would be beyond wonderful if the fun adventure called 'Flex X Cop,' which we worked hard to make, served as a small breath of fresh air in your daily lives. Kim Shin-bi, who played the witty MZ youngest member Choi Kyung-jin, also shared warm remarks, saying, "I sincerely thank you for watching 'Flex X Cop 2' and sending so much interest." He added, "I once again thank everyone who journeyed with 'Flex X Cop 2' from summer into autumn until the weather turned quite chilly, and I hope the playfulness and exhilaration we delivered remain as joyful memories for you. Meanwhile, in the 12th episode broadcast, the bizarre details of serial killer Yoo Sung-won's (played by Yoo Seung-ho) crimes were revealed, delivering a major shock to viewers. Attention is focused on whether Major Crimes Team 1 can punish the vicious Yoo Sung-won and complete a perfect cider ending.

Episode 13 of "Flex X Cop 2" airs tonight (the 18th) at 9:50 PM, and the final episode airs tomorrow, Saturday the 19th, at 9:50 PM.

Netflix's new series "The Scandal" is meeting global viewers today at 5:00 PM, and key points to watch have been revealed.

"The Scandal" is a series depicting a daring and dangerous love wager between Lady Jo (played by Son Ye-jin), a woman with talents that transcend the limitations of the Joseon Dynasty, and Jo-won (played by Ji Changwook), the greatest romantic in Joseon, along with the story of Hui-yeon (played by Nana), a woman entangled in their wager.

#1. A Classic Reinterpreted Through a 2026 Lens... More Multidimensional Female Narrative

The first point to watch is that director Jung Ji-woo has freshly reinterpreted the classic novel "Les Liaisons Dangereuses," which has captivated countless people since its publication in 1782, through the perspective of 2026. While multi-dimensionally addressing the desires of characters who yearn for what the era does not permit and attempt to choose their own lives, the series also meticulously portrays the relationship between Lady Jo and Hui-yeon—which did not exist in the original work—completing a much richer and more multidimensional female narrative.

"Les Liaisons Dangereuses" was previously adapted into the 2003 domestic hit film "Untold Scandal," starring Bae Yong-jun, Jeon Do-yeon, and Lee Mi-sook. Viewers can enjoy the fun of comparing the film and the series.

#2. Son Ye-jin X Ji Changwook X Nana, a Stealthy and Enthralling Psychological Warfare

The final point to watch is the fresh direction that breaks away from the mold of traditional historical dramas. Letters containing the characters' innermost thoughts are delivered in a voiceover format to heighten immersion, while pansori and minhwa elements placed appropriately maximize the unique aesthetics of the Joseon Dynasty. On top of this, there is plenty to see, ranging from alluring costumes capturing each character's traits to art direction and props that realistically implement the gorgeous and elegant scenery of Bukchon.

Combining modern narrative, dense acting by the actors, and unmatched production, the Netflix series "The Scandal" will be released via Netflix on Friday the 18th at 5:00 PM.

A special stage celebrating the musical journey of Yoon Hang-ki (83), a living legend of South Korean popular music and a pioneer of Korean rock, is set to take place.

Performance production company Live Moment announced that the Yoon Hang-ki 65th anniversary tribute concert "Thanks to You, I Am Happy" will be held at 7 PM on October 24 at the Mapo Art Center Art Hall Mac in Seoul. Beyond a commemorative show for a legendary singer who defined an era, this event is prepared as a tribute concert that brings a chapter of South Korean pop music history back to the stage.

Yoon Hang-ki has left a distinct footprint in the history of Korean popular music through his long career as a singer, composer, and singer-songwriter, including leading Key Boys, which spearheaded the early days of Korean group sounds. In particular, he has released numerous hit songs such as "Rosy Scarf," "I Am Happy," "Friend, My Friend," and "Everyone," receiving love across generations.

A large number of senior and junior artists representing the South Korean music scene will participate in this concert to celebrate Yoon Hang-ki's musical career together. Ten junior artists are scheduled to take the stage and present tribute performances, reinterpreting Yoon Hang-ki's masterpiece songs with their own musical colors.

A concert official shared, "As this is an event celebrating Teacher Yoon Hang-ki's 65-year musical journey, we are creating a stage that goes beyond simply reminiscing about the past, showing how Yoon Hang-ki's music has been carried forward and how it will be remembered in the future. It will be a time for audiences who have lived through the same era to rediscover their youth, and for younger audiences to discover the present of a great musician who shaped Korean popular music."

This concert also carries the meaning of sharing. The organizers plan to donate a portion of the concert proceeds to Korea Food for the Hungry International's support for war orphans, the Sunshine School for children from multicultural families, and the World Orphan Support Association Goread.

"Curious Stories Y" investigates the truth behind a chilling case where a woman was discovered dead inside the walk-in freezer of a large cafe in Paju.

Airing on Friday, September 18 at 8:50 p.m., SBS's "Curious Stories Y" sheds light on the mysterious murder case that unfolded at a cafe in Paju.

On September 4, a woman in her 60s who had been reported missing was found dead inside the freezer of a large cafe in Paju. The suspect is the cafe's owner, a man in his 30s surnamed Shin, who had met the victim for the first time on the day of the crime. Adding to the shock, counterfeit department store gift certificates worth a staggering 50 billion won were discovered alongside the scene.

Shin reportedly commissioned a typesetting and printing company to produce the vouchers in late July, claiming they were to be used as props for a film shoot. An acquaintance of Shin who spoke with the show's producers recalled hearing that Shin had previously engaged in voucher forgery, raising questions over whether this incident was tied to the same illicit scheme.

Suspicion of premeditation grew after it was revealed that Shin had instructed a part-time worker the day before the incident to set the freezer temperature to minus 25 degrees Celsius. However, Shin continues to deny the allegations, claiming he had no intention to kill.

Police believe the victim visited the cafe on a favor for an acquaintance working as a voucher broker and was murdered without ever understanding what was happening. What was Shin's true motive behind the 50 billion won in counterfeit vouchers and the sealed freezer?

SBS "Unanswered Questions" will expose the shocking actions of an active-duty police officer who deliberately and falsely closed and concealed a missing persons case.

Airing at 11:10 PM on Saturday, the 19th, the upcoming episode of SBS "Unanswered Questions" titled "104 Days Under the Palm Tree Forest – The Jeju Police Officer Bu Burial Case" will focus on the suspicions surrounding Officer Bu, who fabricated the missing person investigation, and the truth behind a wrongful death.

On the night of May 12, 36-year-old Jang Mi-ran went missing after leaving home. Although her boyfriend and family reported her missing, no activity or traces of her whereabouts were detected. Miran was found as skeletal remains 104 days later in a palm tree forest in Hallim-eup, Jeju City, just 400 meters away from her accommodation.

Officer Bu of the Jeju Western Police Station missing persons investigation team, who was in charge at the time of the missing persons report, notified that the case would be closed two hours and thirty minutes after receiving it, claiming that he had made contact with her and that she asked not to disclose her location to the reporter. However, this turned out to be entirely false. There were no call records, and Officer Bu deleted the case by processing the deceased as deceased in the internal police missing persons system.

This was not the only instance of Officer Bu falsely closing a case. In a missing persons report involving a man in his 60s last June, he also falsely closed the case by claiming he had made contact with the missing person. It has been revealed that he routinely manipulated or falsely closed as many as 25 missing persons reports, infuriating the bereaved families.

On the day Miran's remains were found, the police announced that she appeared to have hanged herself in the early hours of the day after she left home. Questions are being raised as to why the cause of death was hastily announced before an autopsy was even conducted, given that the deceased was found as skeletal remains and there were practically no clues due to the lack of proper investigation.

The producers of "Unanswered Questions" will investigate the possibility of murder through scientific experiments regarding cell tower locations, CCTV sightings, and whether it is physically possible to hang oneself from a palm tree using a shoelace.

"Unanswered Questions," which will track the habitual fabrication committed by a police officer sworn to protect citizens' lives and the hidden reality behind it, will air at 11:10 PM on Saturday, the 19th.

CEO Cho Min, the daughter of Cho Kuk, head of the Innovation Policy Research Institute under the Rebuilding Korea Party, who founded a domestic cosmetics brand in November 2024, revealed that her home shopping broadcast appearance was canceled shortly before going on air for questionable reasons.

On September 18, Cho shared on her social media, "I am replying after looking into the facts because there were many questions about the sudden cancellation of my home shopping appearance." She explained, "About 90 minutes before the broadcast, I received a notice to the effect that 'the appearance is canceled due to concerns over internal and external controversy.'" She added, "It is regrettable because we had prepared so much, but I am satisfied that we were able to conduct a great alternative broadcast thanks to the swift response of the live commerce platform."

Earlier, immediately after receiving notice of the cancellation, Cho had announced, "Today's live broadcast was canceled due to sudden circumstances on the home shopping network's side. To express our apologies to those who were waiting, we will cover the costs and provide free shipping on orders over 50,000 won."

Afterward, a sales report from the alternative live commerce broadcast shared directly by Cho showed a total order amount of 73,764,790 won.

Singer and actor IU has once again shared her warmth with the community to celebrate her debut anniversary.

According to her agency, EDAM Entertainment, on September 18, IU donated a total of 200 million won under the name "IUAENA"—a combination of her stage name and her official fandom name, "UAENA"—in honor of her debut anniversary. The donation was split evenly, with 50 million won delivered to each of four organizations: Korea Welfare Services, Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital, Heart-Heart Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity Korea.

Keeping Faith with her fans, IU has consistently donated under the name "IUAENA" on special occasions such as her debut anniversary, her birthday, and the year-end holidays to give back for the love she receives. Her charitable giving has continued unabated this year, including a donation of 100 million won on Children's Day and 300 million won for her birthday this past May.

The film "The Odyssey" has surpassed 11 million moviegoers nationwide.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticket computer network, "The Odyssey" recorded a cumulative audience of 11,000,003 at 11:41 a.m. on the 18th. Along with surpassing 11 million moviegoers, "The Odyssey" has also closed in on the record of "Avengers: Infinity War" (11.23 million), which ranks fifth in all-time foreign film box office hits in South Korea.

Although its daily box office ranking dropped to second following the release of "The Intern" on the 16th, it continues to maintain the number one spot in advance ticket reservation rates. "The Odyssey" has held the number one spot in overall advance reservation rates for 47 consecutive days from August 3 to September 18.

"The Odyssey" is based on the ancient Greek epic "The Odyssey" by the poet Homer, depicting the 10-year adventure of hero Odysseus (played by Matt Damon) trying to return to his hometown of Ithaca after the Trojan War. The film stars Matt Damon, along with Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, and Zendaya.

Actor Han Ye-ri has teamed up with the newly established agency Studio Viewtyque.

(hereinafter "Kkokkomu") shed light on the culture that brought people together in an era long before smartphones, under the subtitle "Respond, Freedom and Challenge!"

Following the PC communication era—when people secretly logged on while risking astronomical phone bills—the high-speed internet era arrived, triggering a dot-com boom.

As IT venture companies sprouted up like mushrooms after rain to lead the dot-com boom, Freedom & Challenge gathered talented individuals connected through Seoul National University and Samsung, centered around CEO Jeon Je-wan, who graduated from Seoul National University's Department of Business Administration and worked at Samsung C&T. They went on to create and launch Freechal.

Jeon Je-wan had previously taught himself computers while at Samsung C&T, created a new human resources management system, and was recognized for his contribution to reforming Samsung's HR system, earning him the 1st Proud Samsung Person Award.

In 1997, amid the Asian financial crisis, he left Samsung to establish Freedom & Challenge and gathered talented individuals one by one. Together, they created Freechal, a platform where anyone could easily create a community anytime and anywhere. It became a massive hit, surpassing 1 million members and 35,000 created communities within just three months of its launch.

South Korea's representative fashion platform, Musinsa, also traces its roots back to a community hosted there. Freechal soared to success thanks to people who gathered in online communities, delighted by the opening of a new world where they could connect and interact.

Around the same time, Saijoheun Sesang, which provided club services, envied Freechal's capital and talent pool and created their own new service.

What they created was Cyworld, which featured mini-homepages—marking the beginning of Korean-style social media. It became a huge hit by introducing industry-first features like BGM services and the cyber currency "Acorn" (Dotori).

Shifting its positioning from a communal space that people had to visit together to a personalized space that came to the users through innovative new services, Cyworld evolved into a platform rivaling South Korea's Naver and Daum.

Feeling threatened by the emergence of Cyworld, Freechal launched a "My Homepage" service that closely resembled mini-homepages and announced that community operations would become paid.

However, this sparked public outrage, causing users to abandon the platform in an instant and cutting its user base in half.

Then, in 2010, dot-com companies faced the unexpected era of smartphones. With the emergence of feed-style social media where information comes to users automatically, the dot-com era met its downfall.

Pushed aside by foreign social media due to structural changes in services, Cyworld struggled, and Freechal eventually announced the termination of its services in 2013.

Since then, Cyworld's founders have been active in the new era, while former Freechal employees have grown into giants of South Korea's IT industry, currently serving as Naver's Head of Design, Kakao's Co-CEO, a member of the Presidential National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee, and the representative who created Pinkfong.

However, former Freechal CEO Jeon Je-wan was not among them. Currently working as a cleaner at a pension in Yangyang, he shared, "The pain of going through business failure is immense. In fact, your life reaches the verge of ruin, and you come here to clean because you need to forget the agony. You have to focus on one thing to forget. But it keeps coming back to mind, which means you haven't been able to empty your heart. Can you really empty it that easily? I built a structure that entered the domestic top 3 in just one year, so if I could empty all of that away, I'd be an enlightened person."

Cutting ties with everyone, former Freechal CEO Jeon Je-wan now lives by cleaning pensions and working as a designated driver. In reality, Freechal had a structural flaw where the more successful the site became, the more deficits the company accumulated.

As a result, investment funds quickly dried up, coinciding with the plunge in IT-related stock prices and the collapse of the dot-com bubble. Although CEO Jeon ran around desperately seeking investments, Freechal—pushed to the edge of a cliff as the market failed to recognize the potential of IT companies—announced paid community operations. Just when he thought he had found a breakthrough, it was short-lived.

In December 2002, former CEO Jeon Je-wan was arrested. Even though he explained that it was an unavoidable management decision due to the company's financial crisis and not for personal gain, he was sentenced to one year in prison. He expressed his apologies, saying, "Taking this opportunity, I want to apologize to Freechal users for not being able to protect their data until the end."
