The popular webtoon "A Man's Man", which has recorded 470 million cumulative views globally, is set to be produced as a Disney+ original series.

On the 28th, Disney+ announced the confirmed production of the series "A Man's Man" alongside its casting lineup.

"A Man's Man" is an office regression story about a man who chased only success to become a major corporation CEO, but lost everything overnight, only to return to his life as an entry-level employee 20 years in the past to carve out his life anew. It is based on the popular web novel and webtoon of the same name.

Actor Park Jeong-min takes the lead role as protagonist Han Yu-hyeon. Yu-hyeon is a character who climbed from an ordinary staff member to the youngest CEO, lost everything overnight, and then returns to his rookie days 20 years prior to right a past filled with regrets.

Joining Part 4 of the Hansung Electronics Product Planning Team, to which Yu-hyeon belongs after his return to the past, are Bae Seong-woo (as Kim Hyeon-min), Kim Ji-hyun (as Choi Min-hee), Jeong Mun-seong (as Kim Yeong-gil), Moon Sang-hoon (as Park Seung-woo), and Kim Min (as Lee Chan-ho), who will showcase colorful team chemistry.

Additionally, Lee Jung-eun (as Cho Chan-young), Kim Dae-myung (as Lee Gyeong-hun), and Lee Sang-yi (as Kwon Se-jung) are joining as characters portraying the fierce power struggles within the large corporation. Furthermore, Kim Seol-hyun will make a special appearance as Lee Ae-rin, the secretary to Managing Director Cho Chan-young, and Lee Kwang-soo as Chairman Shin Gyeong-su, the person Yu-hyeon guards against the most, putting the finishing touch on the lineup.

The directing will be led by actor and director Kim Hie-won, who proved his directing prowess with the Disney+ series "Light Shop", while production is handled by Studio N, the company behind hit series such as "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call", "Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born", and "Vigilante".

Director Kim Hie-won shared his thoughts, saying, "I have prepared really hard. I am making an effort so that everyone here can work happily," and added, "I hope everyone can finish filming with smiles and enjoyment."

The interview for KARD's final studio album felt somewhat heavy. As a rare mixed-gender group in K-pop who enjoys immense popularity in South America, news of the members' expiring exclusive contracts with their current agency was distorted into rumors of group 'disbandment,' leading to false speculation that this album would be their goodbye release and that they would no longer be active.

KARD has been loved overseas much more than domestically, releasing experimental and unconventional music for a solid 10 years. Due to the unique nature of being a mixed-gender group, they constantly faced various difficulties, such as blending the members' music and performances and dealing with dating rumors, but the members summed up the past time as 'fighting really well.'

KARD (BM, J.seph, SOMIN, JIWOO) is releasing their 1st studio album "Where To Now? (Part.2) : NOWHERE" today (the 28th) at 6 PM. Serving as an extension of last year's 7th mini-album, this release carries the message that after a journey of endlessly searching for direction, this very moment and the people who stayed by their side were the true destination. Coincidentally, this album is also the last studio release KARD is putting out ahead of the expiration of their exclusive contract with DSP Media.

During the interview, the members repeatedly emphasized that these promotions do not mean "disbandment." BM said, "It was meant to convey the completion of a chapter due to the contract ending, but there seems to have been a slight misunderstanding. We will continue making music in a new environment, and we might even get together among ourselves to release a KARD album." J.seph also drew laughter by sharing an anecdote where he explained to his nephew, who called to check on him, "Uncle has a company too, and the time has come for that tied-up contract to end."

Ever since making their name known with a project single in December 2016, KARD is a group that received unusual attention even before their official debut, holding a world tour spanning North and South America. Since then, they have steadily continued tours across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and last year, they once again cemented their unique musical color through the title track of their 8th mini-album. They have steadily solidified their presence as global artists, winning a culture award category last year and receiving a grand prize in recognition of their contributions to spreading the Korean Wave.

Even so, a deep sense of regret over their domestic public recognition lingered. JIWOO confessed, "Domestic recognition has always been a major homework assignment. We tried various methods on how to catch the public eye in Korea, but it didn't quite resonate."

J.seph also shared that after returning from overseas tours, their schedule in Korea was sparse, admitting that the disappointment was once significant. However, he calmly concluded, "Looking back, I received more love overseas than enough to put that regret behind me. I think it was a very good stepping stone."

Ironically, the news of their ending promotions has now become a point in time when they are receiving attention domestically. J.seph steeled his determination, saying, "I thought that even if it's late, receiving attention now is an opportunity, and since we have made a great song called 'Back To Life,' I think this is truly our last chance."

The title track "Back To Life" is a dancehall track based on moombahton that sophisticatedly reinterprets KARD's signature tropical sound, with all members participating in the lyric writing. Amidst a blend of upbeat synths and heavy bass, it carries a comforting message that they will always be a place to lean on for each other. Regarding this song, SOMIN explained, "It's a song that can bring coolness to many people during the scorching summer, and I hope it becomes a comfort."

The album features a total of 10 tracks, including "Armor," which contains the determination to protect oneself amidst outside gazes; "At Least," which sets the lingering, unhealed resonance of a breakup over a reggaeton rhythm; "Signal," depicting a strong attraction; the fan song "Always," containing gratitude toward the fans; as well as individual solo tracks for each member.

Toward the end of the interview, when asked, "What is something you wanted to say to each other over the past 10 years?" the members grew teary-eyed.

SOMIN, who spoke first, told the members, "We really fought wonderfully and well." Reflecting on the past, she said, "In the early days of our promotions, the agency's opinions were almost everything, but after that, we talked about how it would be great for us to actively voice our opinions and build things ourselves, so we actively participated in music production and album concepts. I am truly proud that we never gave up and stubbornly protected what we wanted."

J.seph, who then took the microphone, shared unexpected recent news with a relatively calm expression. It was the news that his father had passed away 3 weeks ago. He said, "Back then, I kept waiting for the time the members would come. Having them by my side like that was a huge source of strength, and looking back after going through those flustered times, although it sounds cheesy, I realized a lot that family is indeed family."

Following that, BM shared his thoughts, saying, "We debuted at these ages of 21 and 25, and it felt like learning about society together. Spending 10 years together, we've seen each other more than our actual families and friends." JIWOO added, "I am so relieved and grateful that I was able to debut as KARD and be together with these members."

KARD will kick off their full-scale world tour by holding the "KARD 2026 WORLD TOUR 'NOW HERE' IN SEOUL" at Gabin Art Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on August 8. The tour is scheduled to continue until early next year, and additional cities are expected to be unveiled sequentially.

HYBE has surpassed 1 trillion KRW in quarterly revenue for the first time in its history.

On July 28, HYBE announced that it recorded 1.45 trillion KRW in revenue and 170.9 billion KRW in operating profit for the second quarter of 2026. This marks the first time HYBE's quarterly revenue has exceeded 1 trillion KRW, and its quarterly operating profit has also surpassed 100 billion KRW for the first time. Cumulative revenue for the first half of the year also broke the 2 trillion KRW mark. The operating profit margin stands at 11.8%. By sector, concert revenue reached 647.7 billion KRW, and music and album revenue recorded 326.8 billion KRW. MD and licensing revenue amounted to 310.6 billion KRW.

BTS, who launched their world tour in April, served as the primary driver of the second-quarter results. According to global music data analytics firm Luminate, their comeback album "ARIRANG" ranked number one in vinyl and CD album sales within the United States, leading a general revival in the physical album market. "ARIRANG" also contributed to South Korea ranking as the world's third-largest music exporter, following the United States and the United Kingdom.

The BTS world tour generated massive economic effects in every region where concerts were held, coining the new term "BTS-nomics." On the 20th (Korean time), they appeared in the first-ever World Cup final halftime show in tournament history, showcasing their influence and status as global icons.

Album sales for artists under HYBE Music Group also increased. According to Circle Chart, seven teams became million-sellers in the first half of the year alone: BTS, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, &TEAM, BOYNEXTDOOR, TWS, and CORTIS. KATSEYE won three awards at the "2026 American Music Awards." CORTIS sold a cumulative 5.25 million copies with their 1st mini album "COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES" and 2nd mini album "GREENGREEN."

The digital single "ICONIC BY MISTAKE," featuring LE SSERAFIM, ILLIT, and KATSEYE, landed on Billboard and Spotify charts.

The number of concerts also increased. In the first half of the year, 12 teams from HYBE Music Group held 119 concerts, and more than 200 shows are scheduled for the second half. This compares to 10 teams and 279 shows last year. ENHYPEN sold out South American stadium shows on their world tour, which has been underway since May. LE SSERAFIM is launching tours across Japan, North America, Europe, and Asia as they begin promotions for their 2nd full-length album. BOYNEXTDOOR kicked off their first-ever world tour since debut in July, and KATSEYE sold out all seats for their scheduled September world tour, prompting them to add more dates.

Weverse MAU reached 14.43 million, setting a new record following the first quarter. Payment amounts increased by 12% compared to the previous quarter, and ARPPU rose by 24%.

Lee Jae-sang, CEO of HYBE, stated, "HYBE has proven through its performance this quarter that it is a company redefining the global entertainment market and functioning as a core export infrastructure for South Korea's cultural industry. We will continue to steadily pursue our expansion and growth strategies moving forward."

HYBE's concert schedule for the second half of the year is expected to exceed 200 shows.

Actor Yoon Kyungho has shared a candid and humble reaction to being mentioned as a potential Grand Prize candidate for the web variety show "Pinggyego".

During a press interview celebrating the conclusion of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Agent Kim Reactivated" (scripted by Nam Dae-jung, directed by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun) held at a cafe in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 27th, Yoon was asked about his name being brought up as a year-end Grand Prize contender following his consecutive favorable receptions on the YouTube content "Pinggyego" this year.

He shared, "Just being mentioned as a Grand Prize candidate itself is a continuous series of such thankful and joyful moments," adding, "Watching Jee Seokjin hyung win the Grand Prize right next to me at last year's awards ceremony, I felt emotional realizing how much effort he put in for that spot. I received great love through chatting, but it is out of the question for me to eye that award after just two years."

Yoon has been active as a cheat key, capturing the hearts of numerous viewers not only through his explosive action and deep paternal love acting shown in the drama "Agent Kim Reactivated", but also through his uniquely honest and witty chatting in recent variety shows.

"Better Late than Single" Season 2 is finally unveiling its final choices.

Netflix is releasing episodes 9 and 10, the final episodes of "Better Late than Single" Season 2, today (28th), revealing the final conclusions for the dating novices who challenged themselves to their very first relationships.

Living legend rocker Kim Jong-seo is gearing up for the second half of his 2026 national tour concert "Everyone's Kim Jong-seo." The first-half shows previously recorded complete sell-outs.

The second-half tour kicks off in Daegu on August 1, followed by Jemulpo in Incheon on August 9, Gwangju on August 29, and Wonju on September 6. Performances are scheduled to continue in major cities across the country through the end of the year.

The tour highlights two key elements. First, Kim Jong-seo will deliver over 20 songs live while maintaining the original keys from his debut days. On stage, he will perform signature tracks such as "Answerless Love," "Winter Rain," and "Beautiful Restriction" in their original keys.

Another feature is that singer Kim Jang-hoon is serving as the general director for this tour. The combination of Kim Jong-seo's vocal power and Kim Jang-hoon's stage direction stands out as a defining characteristic of this tour.

An agency representative shared, "It is a performance completed by bringing together original-key live vocals and Kim Jang-hoon's direction."

In the July 29 broadcast of SBS' "Kick a Goal", the second G-League runner-up team "FC National Family" and their formidable rival "FC Top Girl Movement" will face off in a fateful match for the final semifinal ticket of the second GIFA Cup.

On this day, sports stars representing South Korea will join "FC National Family" as new firepower. The main figures are Olympic triple gold medalist Ki Bo-bae, who has collected 94 gold medals, and former rhythmic gymnastics national team member Chun Songe, who boasts four consecutive National Sports Festival titles.

Director Na Hong-jin met with local fans in advance at Comic-Con ahead of the North American release of "HOPE" on September 9.

Director Na Hong-jin attended San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, July 23, for a meaningful encounter with the audience. Comic-Con is the world's largest pop culture festival spanning movies, series, comics, games, and more, serving as a global event where major Hollywood studios unveil their new works each year.

The panel, hosted by Joanna Robinson, a podcaster for The Ringer and pop culture critic, took place in Ballroom 20, the second-largest venue at Comic-Con, drawing about 4,000 attendees and demonstrating explosive interest in "HOPE".

Prior to the main event that day, a special montage video featuring Na Hong-jin's previous works including "The Chaser", "The Yellow Sea", and "The Wailing" was screened, heating up the auditorium.

Taking the stage, Director Na Hong-jin stated, "'HOPE' carries the message I have continued from my previous works, but its style and narrative tone are completely different. I hope you will let go of preconceived notions or expectations about my previous works and watch the film." He continued with a diverse discussion covering the film's overwhelming scale, the strong female characters that drew passionate responses from the audience, and the global attention directed toward the project.

Following this, an opening video featuring Jung Hoyeon in the role of "Sung-ae" along with unreleased footage from the main feature was screened. Hot-button action sequences that have been winning over Korean audiences were unveiled, including a scene where "Beom-seok" (Hwang Jung-min) struggles in a chaotic town office and encounters an alien, as well as a scene where "Sung-ki" (Zo In-sung) on horseback and others in a patrol car race side-by-side down a road while facing pursuit by "Mabeyo", generating an enthusiastic response.

Director Na Hong-jin noted that while that footage wasn't the most difficult to shoot, he picked the scene where characters ride horses and flee through the forest as the highest in shooting difficulty. He then heaped praise on Jung Hoyeon, saying, "Actor Jung Hoyeon had to undergo driving training for six months. She learned everything from starting the car without stalling to pulling off very difficult drifts. On set, she even acted while driving."

During the Q&A with the audience, Director Na Hong-jin directly answered various questions about the film, further heightening the energy of the venue.

"HOPE" begins as "Beom-seok", the head of the Hopohang branch office located in the Demilitarized Zone, hears news from local youths that a tiger has appeared, leading to an emergency across the entire village and an unbelievable reality. The film surpassed 3 million moviegoers nationwide in 11 days after its release.

Actors Jung Hae-in and Hayoung are starting a sweet and dangerous cohabitation life in "Our Sticky Love".

Netflix released the couple still cuts on the 28th for the new original series "Our Sticky Love" (written by Mo Ji-hye, directed by Kim Jang-han), which is slated for release on August 7.

"Our Sticky Love" is a romantic comedy depicting the sticky and heart-fluttering cohabitation between Ko Eun-sae (played by Hayoung), a prosecutor suffering from amnesia, and Jang Tae-ha (played by Jung Hae-in), a boxing coach who insists he is her boyfriend.

The still cuts released today spark curiosity by capturing the suspicious boyfriend Jang Tae-ha appearing before the memory-loss-stricken Ko Eun-sae at an unfamiliar countryside hospital, followed by a moment where Ko Eun-sae quickly plants a surprise kiss on him after her initial shock. With affectionate gazes toward each other and ultra-close skinship previewed, expectations are high for the sweet-and-salty romance the two will portray.

The chemistry between the two actors also draws attention. Jung Hae-in shared his thoughts, saying, "Actor Hayoung is truly an actor with immense acting passion and positive energy. She portrayed the character of Ko Eun-sae with great delicacy, which helped me immensely throughout our acting."

Hayoung also expressed deep trust, stating, "I learned so much from actor Jung Hae-in. He always pondered and asked for my opinions together on how to make the two characters look more lovable and how to create more heart-fluttering and beautiful scenes. These processes were a tremendous help to my acting."

Selecting taffy as the key metaphor penetrating the relationship in the work, Jung Hae-in explained, "Taffy sticks together more tightly as the temperature rises. Actor Yoon Kyungho shared his honest thoughts on wrapping up the hit drama "Agent Kim Reactivated" and the passionate love he received from viewers for his character.

In a wrap-up interview with reporters held at a cafe in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 27th, Yoon Kyungho shared his thoughts, saying, "It feels like the fever for 'Agent Kim Reactivated' will linger for a long time. Looking back, I also feel a bit of regret wondering if I should have tried certain lines or ad-libs."

He said, "Every morning when I open my eyes, I search my name and look through comments while giggling. The happy times felt so surreal, floating on a cloud, that I think it will be hard to snap out of it for a while."

In particular, he reflected on how the impact of this project was unlike his previous hit works such as the film "Intimate Strangers" or the drama "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call". Yoon Kyungho added, "Because it aired on terrestrial television, the impact was incredible. The nationwide temperature felt much warmer than before. Seeing people of all ages recognize me and greet me as 'Park Jin-cheol' everywhere I went gave me goosebumps. I recently went to Gwangju to throw a ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game, and everyone recognized me there too, which was thrilling. It was truly a thrill like I had never felt before."

He also expressed gratitude and humility regarding recently topping the actor brand reputation rankings. He calmly shared, "When I first heard the news, it didn't make sense and I couldn't believe it. It was thrilling to think that such a moment could happen in my life. However, I know that popularity can come like a gift and vanish at any moment. I calmed my excited mind, spent time with my family to ground myself, and am currently trying to return to square zero to prepare for my next project."

Meanwhile, "Agent Kim Reactivated" is a revenge action series about an ordinary father who sets out to rescue his daughter, and it came to an end on the 25th. The final episode of "Agent Kim Reactivated" achieved massive success, recording a nationwide viewership rating of 23.0% and 23.4% in the metropolitan area (according to Nielsen Korea). Furthermore, the series continued its popularity in the global market by ranking No. 1 on Netflix's Non-English TV shows category for three consecutive weeks.

In this project, Yoon Kyungho took on the role of Park Jin-cheol, perfectly portraying everything from the image of an ordinary family man to the comedic friendship of "middle-aged men in glasses" and the overwhelming action known as the "god of the battlefield," firmly anchoring the center of the series and leading its box office success.
