After a buzzy, ratings-grabbing premiere, episode two of SBS’ Island "Island Hero" airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. The unscripted series drops the ballad superstar and his closest friends into a no?plan, back-to-basics island life.
Before settling into their seaside routine, the four head out for a deep-sea fishing challenge. City guy Lim is giddy with first-catch jitters, dreaming of a big haul. Lee Yi-kyung―armed with a diving license and real freediving experience―jokes, “I’ll make it happen, even if I have to dry up the ocean.” Will Lim land something on his first try, and what surprise will Lee bring back to wow the crew?
Once the self-sufficient island grind kicks in, chef Lim Tae-hoon steals the spotlight, cooking from breakfast through dinner and earning MVP of the island household. “People are sexiest when they’re in their element,” Lee says, impressed. Even Lim, who insists he’s not a fish guy, devours the spread: “I never eat fish, but this is incredible.” Their chef’s signature island feast will be revealed on air.
The show’s signature “Woong’s Jukebox” also returns. Whether on the boat or at dinner, if a song’s needed, Lim answers with impromptu live vocals. That night, the island bachelors get candid in a late-night heart-to-heart. Lim blurts out, “I want to say it now” and “I love you,” then shares the backstory behind the chart-climbing title track from his second full-length album, “Eternal Moment.” Who’s on the receiving end of his confession―and what else will the besties spill after dark?
Newly minted islanders Lim Young-woong x Orbit x Lim Tae-hoon x Lee Yi-kyung―catch their friendship trip and feel-good downtime on Island "Island Hero", airing Tuesday at 9 p.m. on SBS.
