From Water Being Out to Rain Pouring: Lim Young-woong's Struggles Are Real on 'Island Hero'
Lim Young-woong on Island HeroLim Young-woong and his friends are staring down their biggest crisis yet on SBS’s hit variety series "Island Hero".

Now two weeks at No. 1 in its time slot, the show returns with episode three on Tuesday at 9 p.m. KST. The series follows Lim and his real-life buddies as they dive into an unplanned “island village” lifestyle―no scripts, just chaos and camaraderie.

This week, Lim throws an impromptu concert for the island grandmas―no brutal ticketing war required. With true front-row views that rival VIP, the grannies shower him with heart eyes and gasps as the sleepy village turns into a mini festival. Meanwhile, Orbit and Chef Lim Tae-hoon can only laugh through the sting as they’re hilariously overshadowed by Lim’s star power. The performance that had the island aunties raving will be revealed in the broadcast.

By day three, the crew gets slammed by a sudden water shutoff and, to make matters worse, a pounding rainstorm. As canopies collapse and showers become impossible, Lim and his friends spiral into full-on panic. How they claw their way back―from an island with no running water and the sky seemingly flipped upside down―will be a major point of drama this week.

A surprise guest also braves the storm to join the crew, instantly lighting up Lim’s laugh button and stealing focus from the moment they arrive. Lim greets the newcomer with cheers and a huge grin, admitting he’s been a longtime fan and enjoying a true fanboy dream come true. The new friend shows off legit cooking chops and quick wit, earning the favor of “Delivery-Bag Chef” Lim Tae-hoon and striking instant chemistry with chatterbox Orbit. Viewers will be guessing all episode: Who’s the mystery guest Lim has been into all along?

Even under a torrential downpour, the outdoor kitchen keeps firing. Lim, forearms popping and eyes razor sharp, goes all in with a Chinese cleaver. Chef Lim Tae-hoon whips up a special stamina-boosting dish, elevating a simple chicken stew with one secret finishing touch. The crew drops their image and dives into an all-out eating spree―the chef’s recipe and the feast will be shown on air.

An exclusive island-set music clip of Lim’s Don’t Look Back, a track off his second album, will also premiere. Framed by stunning coastal scenery, the clip leans into Lim’s signature depth and ache, sure to tug at fans’ hearts.

From the crew’s scrappy island grind to the surprise guest and that island-version music clip, the newly expanded cast’s adventures unfold on "Island Hero", airing Tuesday at 9 p.m. KST.
