
Singer LIM YOUNGWOONG has donated 200 million won to help patients from low-income families in celebration of his birthday.
According to Korea University Medical Center on the 16th, LIM YOUNGWOONG and his agency, Mulgogi Music, donated 200 million won under the name of his fan club. LIM YOUNGWOONG and Mulgogi Music each contributed 100 million won. The donation will be used to cover medical expenses for low-income and vulnerable patients receiving treatment at Korea University Anam Hospital, Guro Hospital, and Ansan Hospital.
LIM YOUNGWOONG has been making donations every year to commemorate his birthday. He has consistently engaged in charitable activities across various fields, including supporting vulnerable groups, disaster relief, and sponsoring children and adolescents. According to his agency, LIM YOUNGWOONG's cumulative donations have reached 2.5 billion won.
Yoon Eul-sik, Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs at Korea University and Medical Center Director, expressed his gratitude, stating, "LIM YOUNGWOONG's act of sharing, which always remembers the marginalized and sings of hope, will be a great source of strength for our patients. We will deeply cherish his intentions and use the funds meaningfully for patients suffering from illnesses."
LIM YOUNGWOONG's good deeds are also having a positive impact on fandom culture. In 2021, he asked his fans to donate to those in need instead of giving him gifts or support. He has consistently practiced sharing on meaningful days and during times of national disaster. This "positive influence" created together by the artist and his fandom is being praised as an exemplary model of modern fandom culture.
